The First Scholars were an early sect of Sanctaphrax academics who attempted to synthesize life in the Ancient Laboratory. Their experiments were discontinued after the creation of the Blood-Red Glister and the laboratory was closed until Linius Pallitax reopened it in The Curse of the Gloamglozer.
