"Whoever you are, you're making a big mistake! Nobody robs Grint Grayle and gets away with it..."
—Grint Grayle

Grint Grayle was the mine sergeant of the Prade Phraxmine. Prior to the events of The Immortals, he had murdered Abe Quarter, the former mine sergeant, and held a special dislike for Abe's son, Nate Quarter. For every ten chests of stormphrax crystals he shipped to Great Glade, he kept one for himself.

Role in The Immortals[]

One night, when Nate Quarter was in The Hulks, a tavern for the phraxminers, Grint Grayle ordered his hammerhead goblin guards to kill Nate. However, when one of them fired their phraxpistol, Rudd jumped in front of Nate, taking the bullet and giving his life to save his friend.[1]

When Nate ran off and discovered Grint's stash of stolen riches and stormphrax crystals in the attic of the phraxmine's Blockhouse, he adjusted the brightness of a phraxlamp[2], causing the stormphrax to become extremely heavy and destroy the building[3]. Later, Nate Quarter told the whole story to Galston Prade's head clerk, Felftis Brack[4], who happened to be Grint Grayle's accomplice. Galston Prade later admitted his regret in employing the mine sergeant[5].
