Woodmidges

A swarm of woodmidges

Woodmidges were flying insects that lived in the Deepwoods. They preferred dead, desolate areas over rich, fertile areas. Woodmidges travelled in large clouds, and would land all over the bodies of any creature they encountered and viciously bite them. They could fly fast enough to keep up with a running fourthling. Woodmidges would collect above underground pools of water. They came as if out of nowhere and darted around everywhere.
